Edit ********** A valid point was made by Chris Dumas regarding an easier way to boost your speed by using the Ring of The Wild Hunt as opposed to using the below gear setup so I figured best to a little disclaimer regarding the below build to save confusion. This build is designed for those who: - Don't yet have access to Greymoor and the Antiquity system. - Have yet to start / are not interested in the Antiquity system. - Are interested in the antiquity system but due to RL don't have the available time to level up the skill line and farm Mythic Items. ********** Ever found yourself in need of a little extra speed? Sick of mounting and dismounting when farming materials, surveys, leads etc? Then this build is for you. This will work on any class, regardless of your race and role for that character. Of course nothing comes for free, you’ll be required to do a minor respec and also make a few purchases (and craft a couple of items) but I promise the results are worth the investment. ********** ** Further Edit ** I have since made some adjustements to the CP allocation. The CP you find in this post vs whats in the video are slightly different. Both will work fine but the ones on the post are more optimal for the setup. You will need the following gear: 5 x Darkstride 5 x Cowards Gear 2 x Craftable set with Weapon Damage as the 2 piece bonus (I went with Mechanical Acuity) You will need to do the following with your character: Respec all attribute points into Stamina Make sure you have the One Hand and Shield Skill line levelled, then decided if you want to have Two Handed, Dual Wield or Bow as your Off-Hand weapon and make sure this skill line is levelled. Make sure to allocate your CP correctly according to this guide (see below) to fully benefit from this incredible feat of engineering. You will need the following consumables: Essence of Weapon Power Potions (Weapon Damage, Weapon Crit, Stam Recovery, Restore Stam)
[Give you: Increase weapon power (Brutality) Weapon critical and Lower physical resistance (Fracture): Made by combining Dragonthorn, Stinkhorn and Wormwood] Essence of Health - (A.K.A Tri Stat) Potions (Restore Health, Stam, Mag and Increase Health, Stam, Mag Recovery)
[To give you restore health, restore stamina, restore magica use: Bugloss, Columbine and Dragonthorn -OR- Columbine, Lady's Smock and Mountain Flower.]
Learn more about combinations here. Blue Bi Stat Food (Health and Stam)
[ie. Braised Rabbit With Spring Vegetables. Make with Small Game, Greens and Seasoning. ] -or- Purple Dubious Camoran Throne
[Make with White Meat, Beetle Scuttle, Insect Parts and Guts]
-or- Gold Arteum Takeaway Broth [Made with Fish, Melon, Torchbug Thorax and Powdered Mother of Pearl]
What this build is about So, the idea behind this setup is that you are able to run at full speed at all times without ever having to mount up or level up your riding skill. Yes, this works even if you only have level 1 on your horse's riding skill. Orcs will get the most out of this build as they have an increase to movement speed as part of their racial passives so if you happen to use this on an Orc you’re gonna feel like super sonic on steroids when you hit sprint ;-) What this build allows is for the flexibility of moving around a zone with minimal effort, allowing you to farm materials, chests, surveys, leads etc to your hearts content without being bogged down by stamina management or having to mount and dismount just to get a little speed boost. I’m sure you’re wondering “but with all this speed can this build actually hold its own against mobs?”. The answer to that is: Yes. The design of the build is to have One Hand and Shield as your main bar for the passives and as a “defensive bar” then to have either Two Handed, Dual Wield or Bow on your Off-Hand bar as your “offensive” bar. So if you do happen to agro a mob you can take it down with ease. Don’t expect this to get you the God Slayer title (if you don’t know what that entails you should definitely look it up) but it will be enough to take on general mobs and some of the easier world bosses should you have to. But do remember this build is designed as a farmer rather than a fighter so more often than not you can just grab your node, chest etc and run away into the sunset without ever being tagged by a mob. The Nitty Gritty In my example I am using my MagDK and have chosen to use a Two Handed Weapon (personal preference), but I can assure you this will work on any class with any race (my MagDK is a Breton so case in point). You’ll want to have your gear in the following traits and Glyphs: 1H Weapon - Sharp - Absorb Stam Glyph Shield - Infused - Stam Glyph 2H Weapon - Sharp - Absorb Stam Glyph All body pieces, Medium, Well-Fitted - Stam Glyph Jewellery - Swift (Robust will be fine if you don’t want to waste transmutes) - Weapon Damage Glyph You’ll want to set your CP up as follows: Green (This is the important one) Warlord - 26 Sprinter - 50 Mooncalf - 75 Tenacity - 43 Tumbling - 72 Shadow Ward - 4 Sprinter is important as this will allow you to use sprint with minimal impact on your Stamina Resource. Mooncalf and Tenacity are important as you need to have 120 Points into the Lover tree to unlock the movement speed bonus. Tumbling and Shadow ward are important as you need to have at least 75 points into the Shadow tree to increase the quality of items you find in chests. Red (this is a general split to cover all forms of incoming damage) Ironclad - 72 Spell Shield - 41 Thick Skinned - 48 Hardy - 49 Elemental Defender - 49 Quick Recovery - 11 Blue (this is setup to accommodate for me using a Two Handed weapon, adjust as needed) Blessed - 19 Physical Weapon Expert - 50 Master-at-Arms - 72 Piercing - 65 Mighty - 64 Conclusion You are now one of the fastest creatures alive, go forth and raid nodes and chests and become rich beyond your wildest dreams (and don’t forget that 10% of all your profits made will be sent to me for providing you with this amazing setup XD). Enjoy!
