Trial: Normal Kynes Aegis
on Saturday 13/06/2020 I led an Elphish By Nature weekly trial in Elder Scrolls Online (Xbox EU.) Here are some basic tips and tricks for trials and how it went teaching them in this run.
Kynes Aegis is the new trial out with the Greymoor patch and is located in Western Skyrim. The trial has 3 bosses and some hard adds to fight in between. First Boss: Yandir the Butcher Second Boss: Captain Vrol and Final Boss: Lord Falgravn.
How it went
This run of Kynes Aegis was a blind run for most of the group so we didn't know how long it would take. In total it was a bit over an hour in the end. With not knowing what to expect I had the tanks take charge of calling out the pulls and to try and have the DDs stay in a hard stack moving from one group of enemies to another, this part was the bit that the group found hardest and was split out in two sets of DDs rather than one most the time. It was a fun experience for all and we got through the whole trial with just a few wipes as we worked to figure out the kill order. The last adds before the main boss were the hardest thing to do on this blind run.
Tips and Tricks for Trials
Tip 3 - easy steps for running new content blind (without looking up the mechanics.)
Remember the basic pre-trial checklist to ask the team before you start that I went over in tip 2 (normal Sunspire post).
Weapons need to be charged!
Armour fixed (there is a merchant in the 1st room of every trial)
Food active! (provisioning station there in 1st room)
Pots made (there is an alchemy bench in 1st room)
Non-combat Pets - away
Assistants - away
When moving through the content remember to keep tanks in the front and be able to decide which team mates to move where as you all will be learning this as you go. It's important to determine which are the enemies to tackle in what order.
Keep a hard stack of DDs at all time if possible. This can be hard when none know what to go for, but try to keep every DD focused together on the same enemy.
Healers are always to be at the back of the group to heal the whole team. As you don't know what will hit harder keep the tanks focused by a healer and the group should be fine with the one healer assigned to them.
Keep your communications channel clear at all time for the tanks and the healers to discuss tactics along the way.
...and as always - try to have fun!
