If you're looking for a particular item, especially if it's a piece of farmable gear or perhaps crafting materials, then your best bet to find the item (and at the highest top-of-market-prices) would be in one of the three trading cities that also have Undaunted Enclaves where you can get your daily pledges. The fact that everyone really NEEDS high level Undaunted skill lines to be most effective in the game means that these locations will have extremely high footfall. It also means that these traders are some of the most hotly contested traders in the game. Often these traders demand incredibly high winning bids in the weekly "blind bid" style guild trader system.
ALDMERI DOMINION
The A.D. Undaunted Enclave is located in Elden Root in the heart of Grahtwood.
There are seven traders operating in the "Trunkshade Traders" market just south of the wayshrine:

Walks-In-Leaves
If you're in the area anyway and don't find what you're looking for - or more likely if you get caught stealing something and want a quick escape from the heavy handed law then pop down into the Elden Root refuge and meet guild trader Naerorien at "The Willow's Wares.' Guild trader in refuge's are usually last minute grabs if the guild missed a trader or low level starter guilds that haven't got a lot of goods to offer in their stores yet.
EBONHEART PACT
The E.P. Undaunted Enclave is located just outside the walls of Mournhold in the heart of Deshaan. The guild traders in this city directly operate in the "Mourner's Market" which completely surrounds the wayshrine that you land at making this one of my personal favourite spots to shop - quick in, quick out. Here you will find seven traders:

Through-Gilded-Eyes
Zarum
North of the wayshrine you'll find an entrance to the Mournhold Outlaws refuge and in there you'll find "The Night Market" run by Nakmargo.
DAGGERFALL COVENANT
The D.C. Undaunted Enclave is located in Wayrest in the south-east of Stormhaven. In the market, named "Stormhaven's Trade Coster" you will find seven high quality traders with most of what you'll need:

Hidden between a building and a steep staircase moving towards the Undantuned from the market you'll find the entrance to the Wayrest Refuge. In the refgure you can meet Essilion who runs the "Lion's Share Market."
